By the Roadside

On my way back from the post office on Saturday I saw a blue butterfly on the driveway flitting along the pebbles, finding some sustanance there. Luckily I had the camera in the glove compartment and got a few shots, though its tough to catch some butterflies with wings outstretched. I tried to i.d. it later. Red Spotted Blue Admiral...seems to be. Lovely...spotted on the same day as the memorial service of one our selectmen, and member of our Conservation Commission. At the service, his wife said he is still with us in the nature around us and within in our hearts. I think so, too.
